Yosemite National Park Vacations

Yosemite National Park is a US National Park that is one of America’s favorite places. It is located in California’s Sierra Nevada Mountains. It is famous for its giant, old, Sequoia trees, and even for Tunnel View, arguably the world’s most famous view of Yosemite’s massive, distinctive, granite cliffs and majestic Bridalveil Falls.

There are many other activities to do in Yosemite. There are plenty of campgrounds, hotels, cabins, sightseeing tours, and activities for children. However, you don’t have to take your kids to these sites. You can do it all on your own! That is, if you’re up to it. That is, if you have a sense of adventure and you like challenges.

You’ll be getting plenty of opportunities to do just that. You’ll be trekking up the steps of Half Dome, and you’ll see a glimpse of Yosemite Valley. You’ll take a ride on the cable car that will take you around the park. And you can go hiking, biking, swimming and even fishing. There are also several different campgrounds within the Yosemite National Park boundaries, where you can stay for the night and go backpacking the next day.

In Yosemite National Park, it doesn’t take a degree to get your hiking or biking permit. You simply show proof of certification from your school or workplace. Once you’ve gotten your permit, you can head out on any of the four main hiking trails. In summer, you can hike along the shores of Yosemite River and on the banks of Tahaleah Bay. In winter, you can climb the granite peaks of El Capitan or look for wildlife at Glacier Point.

If you’ve never been there, you might think it would be difficult to fit everything in. But with a GPS you’ll see that it isn’t. For example, you can drive your car to the valley floor and catch a bus that will take you to the park headquarters and then take you to all the various attractions. And once you get there, you won’t have to pay a lot of money to get your family in one place at a time.

Don’t let the size of Yosemite fool you. There are plenty of other attractions within the park boundaries. For example, there’s Yosemite Falls, which is a breathtaking scenic waterfall. You’ll be able to view Yosemite via cable car or even on foot. You’ll even be able to take a horseback ride. And you’ll find a nice spot to sit and take in all the beauty of Yosemite.

The park headquarters offers tours of all the areas within Yosemite but also includes a lodge and a gift shop. The gift shop offers such things as hats, souvenirs, books, clothing, photos, clocks, and more. It also includes hot meals. After a day of exploring, you’ll be glad you spent your time at Yosemite National Park. You’ll have pictures to share for years to come.

What if you don’t want to camp? You’ll still get the experience you deserve from Yosemite National Park. Camping is available in several different locations throughout the park, including at the Half Dredge station, where you can spend the night in a tent, while listening to the sounds of the forest. Or perhaps at Yosemite Fall, where you’ll be surrounded by the serenity of waterfalls. Then, after a wonderful evening, you’ll be off to your next adventure in the great outdoors.
